GG Weightlifting sent Audrey Hillman to the 2025 U20 Pan-American Championships for her first international competition. This championships was the first IWF event to contest the new bodyweight categories, so Audrey competed up a weight class from her usual 49kg as a light 53kg lifter.
Despite a power outage stalling the competition as Audrey was going up for second clean & jerk attempt, she put up lifetime bests in both lifts and in the total. She made 5 out of 6 good lifts, finishing with a 155kg total made up of a 72kg snatch and an 83kg clean and jerk.
This was enough to secure her a top-8 finish in the 53kg class, putting her in contention to be selected to compete at the 2025 Junior Pan-American Games. The games will be held later this year in Lima, Peru, pending the selection of 5 of 8 weight classes to be contested.
